About Me

FILM EDITOR

Born and raised in Chicago, I moved to Los Angeles in ’92 to launch a successful editing career that spans music videos, feature films, and documentaries. Over the years, I’ve established myself as a versatile editor, collaborating with music video artists such as Aerosmith, Red Hot Chili Peppers, NAS, LL Cool J, Kid Rock, Nicki Minaj, and commercial clients like Reebok, Nike, Bose, J. Crew, Michelob Ultra, McDonald’s, and Kohl’s. In 2010, I accompanied 30 Seconds to Mars on tour in North America to edit the music video for “Closer to the Edge.” The following year, I cut the music video for “This Is War” while touring with the band in Europe.

My feature film career began with "Between Us," directed by Dan Mirvish (Co-founder of the Slamdance Film Festival). The film won the Grand Prize at the Bahamas International Film Festival and the Audience Award at the Oldenburg Film Festival. I also edited the Green Day documentary "Heart Like a Hand Grenade," which the band released 10 years later, making its theatrical debut in 2015. In 2016, I edited "The Tale of Four," Actor Gabourey Sidibe’s directorial debut short film. It won the VOW Film Festival’s The Voice of a Woman Award, IBFF Nashville’s Best Social Justice Film Award, and the BlackStar Film Festival’s Audience Award for Best Narrative Short.

2017 marked a significant year with the release of "They," directed by Anahita Ghazvinizadeh, and "Pearl Jam: Let’s Play Two," directed by Danny Clinch. "They" premiered at the Cannes Film Festival, earning nominations for the Golden Camera and Queer Palm awards. It also won the George C. Lin Emerging Filmmaker Award at the San Diego Asian Film Festival. "Pearl Jam: Let’s Play Two" was celebrated for its electrifying portrayal of the band’s historic Wrigley Field performances, earning praise for capturing the energy of the live shows while weaving in the deep connection between the band and Chicago Cubs fans.

In addition, I edited "The N-Men," which received critical acclaim and won Best Documentary and Best Editing at the Los Angeles Film Awards . My work on "The Scopia Effect," a psychological horror film directed by Christopher Butler, further demonstrated my range as an editor, contributing to its haunting narrative and compelling visual style.

Recent projects include "B.S. High" (HBO/MAX), a gripping feature documentary that premiered at the Tribeca Film Festival in 2023 and received widespread critical acclaim for its bold storytelling and hard-hitting narrative, and "Black Gold" (Paramount+), a limited docuseries directed by Zachary Heinzerling, produced by Darren Aronofsky and Time Studios. "Black Gold" was lauded for its incisive look at environmental and corporate complexities. I also edited "What Drives Us," directed by Dave Grohl, a documentary that celebrates the passion and resilience of musicians on the road.
